The agency on this one are a six-years old creative agency spun out of a well-know ad agency. They've just moved into a really nice new studio space with a team of 20 working together on clients spanning travel, health, real estate, and dozens of rapidly growing startups that they've helped to launch with outputs spanning fully integrated campaigns (inc a lot of TVC) to social assets and content.

They're on a bit of a growth mission at the moment but have no intention of getting to big - 30 is the goal for now, with 50 being the theoretical ceiling. The culture as it stands is a closely-knit gang with a friendly vibe, they don't have an obsession with process preferring to have a flatter structure (hence the size cap) and a focus on making the agency a good place to work. This includes having a fairly standard flex working policy with 3 days a week being spent in the office (though that isn't an upper limit).

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be joining a team of eight account managers from client partner down to account exec level, spending 50% of your time on one well known travel brand, a whisper of your time on pitches, and the rest spent on smaller brands where you'll get more of a leadership role with the client.

Your day to day will include:

  • Leading client relationships on 2-3 smaller accounts.
  • Supporting the client partner and a SAM on larger clients.
  • Direct involvement in taking briefs from clients and translating them for the strategy and creative teams.
  • Managing budgeting, time lines, and burn rate (though setting budgets is done as part of a team discussion).
  • Keeping clients in the loop on project updates and managing creative reviews.

While your role is going to be well-defined with clear areas of ownership you'll probably end up mucking in outside of the job spec so do be prepared to roll your sleeves up!

Who We're Looking For

We're ideally looking for someone who's used to working with big clients with multiple stakeholders and is comfortable dealing with projects and marketing plans that come with long term planning as the default. That said, the ability to be part of a smaller, nimble team is a driver for this hire - the account management team at this agency are the driving force for the process not merely conduits shaping it (though there are producers to manage the heavy production end of things).

Good knowledge of TV advertising is key on this one.

Aside from that all the usual personality traits apply - the ability to work collaboratively, think on your feet, and being personable with clients are all important.
