An independent brand and design agency with expertise in the retail and FMCG sectors are looking for an experienced Strategy Director to join their reputable agency. This agency has been accredited a number of prestigious industry awards for their outstanding design work throughout the years.
As the Strategy Director, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the agency's future and driving growth. You'll lead the talented strategy team, working closely with founding partners, creatives, and client service teams to develop transformative strategies that unlock new opportunities for this agency's clients.
The role:
- Be the voice of strategy in the business, present on pitches, with clients old and new and help to establish the offering
- Help to decode client briefs and reinterpret for the creative team
- Inspire the team and clients through trends
- Lead workshops and synthesise results
- Lead brand naming exercises
- Be a presence on pitches and identify room for client account growth
- Work closely with the Founders, Creative Director and New Business Director to farm current client accounts and target new categories
- Write and execute strategic proposals, as well as thought leadership where appropriate
The ideal candidate:
- Experience as a Strategy lead on global brand projects, identifying client needs, understanding the categories they play in and developing insights and propositions that inspire outstanding creative work.
- Client-facing and a diplomat who is able to deal with complex client challenges
- Someone with a deep understanding of human nature, a collaborator and a communicator
- You'll have packaging experience and a portfolio that showcases FMCG brands (preferably drinks and tobacco brands).
- Someone who is creative and analytical in good balance
- Someone who is fluent in the world of branding, with a passion for design and an interest in the wider world
